Hannibal Regional’s Dr. Blake Kramer First in Nation to Complete New Minimally Invasive Procedure

Dr. Blake Kramer, an Interventional Radiologist at Hannibal Regional, has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first in the nation to complete a minimally invasive removal of an internal jugular vein thrombosis using a specialized catheter from Inari Medical called the FlowTriever 16.

The Importance of Identifying Colorectal Cancer Early

According to the American Cancer Society excluding skin cancers, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. In 2024 it is estimated that 152,810 adults will be diagnosed with colon (106,590) or rectal (46,220) cancer and 53,010 people will die from this disease. “The good news is colorectal cancer is a highly preventable disease,” shares Dr. Ashraf Almashhrawi, gastroenterologist with Hannibal Regional Medical Group.

Hannibal Regional Welcomes Vascular Surgeon Dr. Scott Gard

Hannibal Regional is excited to introduce the addition of Vascular Surgeon, Dr. Scott Gard to their team. Dr. Gard completed his medical education at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine and furthered his expertise through general surgery residency at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. His journey continued with a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Tennessee – Memphis.
