Hannibal Regional Hospital is delighted to announce the arrival of the first baby born at the hospital in the new year. Proud parents Ryan and Ashlie Gilmore welcomed their sweet baby boy, named Arrow, into the world at 1:18 pm on January 1st, 2024. Arrow weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces.

This is Ashlie and Ryan’s second son born at Hannibal Regional with Dr. Julie Viehmann, an obstetrician at Hannibal Regional Medical Group. They both expressed their happiness and gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Hannibal Regional Hospital's dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and staff during this special moment.

"We are immensely grateful for the outstanding care we received at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Everyone was so nice and the care was seamless, it made for a very peaceful and calm birthing experience," said Ashlie and Ryan. Ashlie was able to use the new low-intervention birthing room and laboring pool. “I was immediately impressed with how large the room was. The pool helped progress my labor and dulled my contractions to the point that they were very manageable,” Ashlie describes.

The arrival of the first baby of the year is always a heartwarming event at Hannibal Regional. Diane Bibb, Director of the Chris Coons Women’s Care Unit at Hannibal Regional Hospital shared her excitement, stating, "We extend our warmest congratulations to the family on their adorable new addition. It's an honor to be part of such a precious moment in their lives and to provide exceptional care for the newest member of their family."

The hospital staff expressed their best wishes and presented the family with a celebratory gift basket to commemorate this special occasion.
